'East Side' beach, & CAMP!

We had an awesome time in Machias this weekend. The sun was shining (most of the time) and we spent lots of time outside with our friends and family. Sunday morning we had an awesome breakfast - waffles with Gram's homemade blueberry sauce, Joe's Sausage, baked beans & Gram's rolls. Oh my! It was a feast! But, the camera died so there are no pictures of those festivities. (Joe Parisi runs an awesome little food shop specializing in homemade sausages and other fine cuts of meat, cheese, and specialty items in Machias. He doesn't have a website, but if you are in town and the flag is out, stop by! It will be worth it. 9 West St, Machias)

Here are some pictures from the weekend:

This is my mom's beautiful 'camp', or - the place where our rustic camp once stood. It's a gorgeous spot, and I'm looking forward to many, many wonderful times spent here soon! (with a FLUSHING toilet!)

Alex, Layla, mom & Jeannie enjoying some beach time.

'Camp' is the only place Layla gets to run FREE!

Have I mentioned I like it at camp? (LOVE IT)

Ever wonder what a dog looks like mid-shake? Here you go.

FOR SALE: The Ruth Brown House

$88,500 / 2BR Cape Cod style house with views of Machias Bay (Machiasport, ME)

Built in the mid-1800’s, this original Cape sits in the middle of Trafton’s Hill, boasting spectacular ocean views of Machias Bay from an unfinished 2nd floor room, which would make an impressive master suite. The 1500 sq. foot house sits on approximately .25 acres with a detached barn. Original details remain, including pumpkin pine flooring and large, oversized windows - framework complete with rosette block detail. The house was recently converted from oil to propane heating system.  The structure is sound, but cosmetic updates are needed. First floor includes 4 rooms and a bathroom. Second floor includes two small bedrooms and the large, unfinished ‘attic’ space. Whether it be your reasonably priced summer home, or year-round residence, this house has all the charm Downeast Maine has to offer.
The ‘Ruth Brown’ house is located in the heart of downtown Machiasport, within walking distance of historic Liberty Hall and the Gates House. 3 ½ miles from Jasper’s Beach. The town hosts historical significance, as the first Naval Battle of the American Revolution was fought here in the waters of Machias Bay.
For Sale by Owner. Please contact (207) 263-5777, or send email to khkurz@gmail.com for additional information.
